How to come back to it.

A step you chose on a heavy day is still yours tomorrow, or next week. Coming back to it doesn’t mean starting again from the beginning.

Why coming back helps

Heavy days come back. When they do, it helps to see that you have already found one thing that helped, or one thing that could wait. Picking up an old step is quicker than inventing a new one.

Nothing to keep up

There is nothing to keep up. Struggle does not count the days you skipped, so coming back after a week is the same as coming back tomorrow. You return when it helps, not to protect a number.

How to pick a step up again

  • Read it as it is. Is it still the right size?
  • If it is, do it, or just the first part of it.
  • If it’s done or no longer matters, let it go.
  • If it’s still too big, make it smaller.

How Struggle helps with this

In Struggle you can return to your conversations, which stay on your iPhone, and save a step you want to revisit. Saved steps you confirm sync with Struggle’s server, so they are there when you come back. You decide whether a saved step can shape future replies; at most one enabled step is included with a message to the model. You can delete a step at any time. Struggle is on the App Store.

Doing it on paper

Keep one line at the top of a page or a note: the step, and the day you chose it. When you come back, read that line first.

When it’s more than a heavy day

If you’re in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. If something has lasted weeks or gets in the way of daily life, a doctor or a counsellor can help in ways an app can’t. Safety lists where to find human support.

Questions

What if I forgot about my step for weeks?

Nothing is lost and nothing is counted. Read it again, then keep it, change it or let it go.

What happens when I delete a saved step?

Its text is not kept. The privacy policy explains the small content-free marker that stays so older copies of the step are not restored.
